Garden of Life Raw Organic Meal Plant based Vanilla Protein Powder Dairy Free 14 Servings

I bought this product in two flavors: Vanilla and Vanilla Chai. I have tried both several times mixed with 12 oz. unsweetened almond milk (following recommendations from others to add more liquid to make the drink less chalky tasting). I really wish I liked the taste more as the ingredients are so beneficial. But even when I mix fruit into the shake (e.g. raspberries), the flavor still has the underlying unpleasant taste. Rather than being a meal replacement drink that I look forward to drinking, or at least don't mind drinking, I really have to force myself to make the shake and drink it. I can't see me sticking to a routine of drinking at least one of these meal replacement shakes a day with either of these flavors. And I can't risk accumulating more containers of unpleasant flavors by trying the chocolate; I believe it will still have that underlying unpleasant taste. So I gave this product 3 stars for the ingredients, but only three stars because of the taste - which face it - is so important if you're going to consumer a product steadily, even if it's good for you.

I tried this after most other reviews said it tasted horrible, but...they could not be more wrong! The vanilla flavor tastes like a dessert and after 3 days running trying this, I'm starting to crave it. I use 1 cup almond milk (30 cals), 1 cup water, 0.5 cup blueberries (40 cals) and 0.5 cup kale (15 cals) and have it right before lunch time. One scoop has 130 calories, so altogether it's a delicious vitamin treat for 215 calories which is less than a candy bar! I've been full to the point of being uncomfortable for several hours after, and while I'm glad I'm not snacking I'm going to try mixing with just water to see if that helps my stomach. I feel so different after just a few days using this. Just bought more, it's seriously life changing.

That's not my original title. I stole it from the guy whose review left my kids and I laughing hysterically as we drank our delicious vanilla smoothie made with raw milk and frozen banana. I told them how awful a reviewer thought this was, and how funny he is, and I had to pat myself on the back for having 5 little kids absolutely raving over this milkshake! And then, what made me jump on here and write a review, was when my eldest, my 13 yr old son hopped on his crutches straight to the bathroom immediately following his shake and came back a few minutes later exclaiming he wants another shake! Why? Because the poop just "slid out of my butt" he says. So large it disappeared into the hole. He didn't know poop was supposed to slide out that easy. And then I realized every morning he sits on the toilet for 10 minutes waiting to poop but said it's okay. The poor guy didn't know he was constipated. So, here's 5 stars for taste, ingredients that make you regular, and texture that to an unspoiled-on-sugar child should make him feel like they're licking angel tear drops off a unicorn's horn. (I prefer the unicorn-poop ice cream cone analogy instead.)

Taste great

I've only tried it with vanilla almond milk and it tastes delicious. All my kids want to drink it up. It probably tastes pretty good with just water too. Makes me feel more energized. I put it in the bullet mixer for a few seconds and it has a very smooth consistency.
