This product made my dog sick! I mistakenly trusted it because it seemed like it was supposed to help a dog with liver issues but when I talked to my Vet he said to STOP giving this supplement! SAM-e may help liver disease and Methionine is converted into SAM-e in the HEALTHY LIVERS of healthy animals. This product contains DL Methionine, this is contraindicated for use in animals with liver problems. When the liver isn't working properly it can no longer convert Methionine into SAM-e efficiently and can make things worse. DL Methionine should not be used in a supplement targeting pets with liver issues. It's unsafe but it's cheaper than adding SAM-e. This company should be ashamed, putting pets at risk to save a buck! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product and I deeply regret ever trying it! PLEASE, if you love your pet , do your own research before giving any supplement. Dietary supplements are not regulated in the United States, meaning the FDA does not approve them for safety and effectiveness. When possible, choose a supplement that has documentation proving it has been tested by a trusted third party. BUT, even if supplements are third-party tested, that doesnt mean that they are necessarily safe for all or effective in general. It is important to talk to your veterinarian about any supplements you're thinking of giving your critter and to check for any potential interactions with other supplements or medications. It's important to report adverse reactions to the manufacturer and/or to the FDA if they occur. I contacted the company and Craig Kisciras could not, or would not, answer my questions regarding this unsafe ingredient and is currently ignoring my messages. Update-No help from the company. I recommend anyone whose pet got sick or had a negative reaction after using this supplement to report it to the FDA.
