Update to confirm its definitely not a true glyconate. Actual, properly produced Chelated Magnesium does NOT have any effect on the bowels and will not loosen stool. Its a laxative which proved that whatevers in these is not in fact properly glyconated magnesium. Ive been taking magnesium for many years now. At first I was taking the regular stuff you find at your local drug store which is either a magnesium oxide or magnesium citrate. That didnt last long because those non chelated magnesium supplements are so poorly absorbed that they go right through you (diarrhea inducing). So I educated myself on what kind of magnesium is most absorbed with least side effects and learned that the only version of magnesium that doesnt have a laxative quality to it is the glyconate or chelated version. Its the most absorbed form of magnesium...hence why it doesnt go right through you like the oxide or citrate form does. It was night and day. Not a single upset tummy, no loose stool and no unnecessary bowel movements an hour after taking the supplement. This is not a true glyconate! Its a laxative like the cheaper stuff. I usually take the Doctors Best (or is it Doctors Choice?) brand but decided to give these a try only because they came in capsules which make it easier to swallow. Never again!! This is not glyconate type magnesium because its a laxative exactly like the oxide/citrate stuff does. Like I mentioned, Ive been taking various forms of magnesium for many years now and glyconate does NOT have a laxative quality (thats the entire point of the glyconate form) whereas the rest do. I DO NOT recommend this as a magnesium glyconate supplement because it has all the qualities of the cheaper types and none of the benefits. This is no different than the cheap drugstore stuff so avoid and look elsewhere.
This brand has worked out well for me (I am sensitive to many sunscreens, including mineral-based ones) but my teenaged daughter immediately broke out from using it, so I took her tube to use too. I like the coverage this gives. Depending on the color, some texture comes out of the tube smooth, others rather grainy.
