I dont follow the directions, makes my hair too oily from just a little bit. I take several pumps and completely saturate my hair. I let it sit from a few hours to 24 hours. I do this about every two to four weeks. Keeps hair from breaking, dry split ends. Hair stylist always compliments my hair health, with exception for one appointment in two years when I didnt use this product for a month
