I have been purchasing this glucomannan for a few years. I really like the product and put it in my low carb pancakes. I believe that it does indeed help regulate my blood sugar. I have type 1 diabetes, so I need to inject the proper amount of insulin for each meal - and taking a substantial dose of this (1 Tablespoon (yes, you read that right)) in my pancakes achieves the desired effect. I want you to know, though that this product is for the capsules, not the powder. Therefore, it is kind of a rip off. I selected the "buy again" option on Amazon, and for some reason Amazon transparently switched my order to the capsules instead of the powder. I spent the morning emptying the capsules into the bottle, and by volume, it appears that you get half the amount of Glucomannan compared to if you were to just purchase the powder. Plus, that was a lot of work! Also, I'd like to point out that if you were to take the capsules, you may not achieve the desired effect. IF you have ever added liquid to glucomannan, you will notice that it forms "lumps" that cannot be broken apart. The trick to getting a nice gel is to distribute it evenly throughout another medium. I achieve this in two ways: 1) If I'm just adding it to water, I LIGHTLY DUST the surface of the water and very slowly dissolve it so it is evenly distributed. Even with this method, you sometimes get some rock hard lumps. 2) the baking method: mix the dry ingredients before adding wet. Doing this distributes Glucomannan amongst other dry baking powders, so when you add liquids, you don't get gel lumps. The reason this is important is because with the capsule, as soon as the capsule dissolves in your gut, you will have this rock hard lump on the outside (dry on the inside). The exterior swelling prevents further moisture from reaching the inside, and you have basically just wasted a pill... each time you ingest one of these! It's really a silly delivery method for this type of product.
