Experience the Benefits of Fish Oil

If youre like most Americans, you dont eat enough fish, especially not the healthy, fatty kind like salmon, tuna, and mackerel. Even if you like fish, eating 2 servings a day is impractical. Yet, that is what you need to get enough omega-3 essential fatty acids, especially DHA and EPA, the most beneficial forms. Fish oil, from supplements or actual fish, has been linked to brain health, improved mood, reduction of joint pain, and heart benefits. Ive been taking fish oil for years and its a major part of my health regimen. BodyBio supplements come from a third party inspected facility and they emphasize their commitment to quality. The fish oil extraction process also prevents the degradation of the oil to make sure youre getting a fresh, potent product. The price strikes me as a little high, but, if you take two a day, this is at least a two month supply.

Good alternative to Nordic Naturals

When it comes to fish oil, I had been consuming Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega for quite some time until exploring quality alternatives that provide a better price point. A lot of different opinions exist as to how much and at what ratio EPA and DHA should be consumed daily, so fish oil supplements are typically differentiated by these attributes, as well as the types of fish used and how these are processed. The aforementioned Nordic Naturals product uses a 1.44:1 EPA to DHA ratio, and contains other Omega-3s not providing either of these, and this product from BodyBio uses a 3:1 EPA to DHA ratio with no other Omega-3s mentioned. While both products are created from anchovies and sardines, BodyBio also claims that its product is created using Supercritical Extraction with CO2 to prevent oxidation. Since EPA to DHA ratio recommendations are all over the map, it would seem that since Nordic Naturals isn't produced using this newer separation technique that it might provide an edge, but apart from this factor my choice will come down to cost. Unfortunately, the quantity of fish oil per capsule for these two products also differs, so in order to compare costs a common denominator needs to be used. At current prices, Nordic Naturals costs about $0.06 per 100mg, and BodyBio costs about $.08 per 100mg, which means BodyBio carries a considerable 33% price premium. However, Nordic Naturals capsules are 640mg each whereas BodyBio capsules are 420mg each, so BodyBio enables consumption in smaller increments if desired, which can be seen as a benefit. Nordic Naturals additionally claims a "great lemon taste", but capsules are intended to be consumed whole, not broken apart, so it doesn't seem like this would provide any benefit. The bottom line is that BodyBio appears to provide a good alternative to Nordic Naturals.

Wish it were a gummy.

I hate taking pills but needed to boast my vitamin Bs. Seem to be helping.
