its ok....

i get this brand leans heavily into the clean make up branding and is carried in whole foods and such, but i gotta say for the price i havent been super impressed with this line. ive tried another product by them that was just ok as well. if youre heavily into skincare stuff you know as well as i know that clean skincare just doesnt perform as well sometimes and the price definitely doesnt reflect that. its overpriced imo for what it is. and if youre looking for good clean skincare just stick to cold pressed oils that cost way less than this.

Hated it alone, wonderful mixed with another Hauschka moisturizer

Hated it alone, wonderful mixed with another Hauschka moisturizer, especially wonderful mixed with the Tinted Day Cream. Buy it direct from Hauschka website though, theyre always having great promotions.

Smells terrible.

Expired, and with a strong floral scent.

Dr Hauschka kinda dropped the ball here. I ordered a sample bottle of regenerating day cream December 3rd, and when I finally opened the package to give it a try this week I noticed that the best before date passed in October of 2020. Hmmm. If this were some lab-constructed mish mash of chemicals with unpronounceable names I probably wouldnt be at all bothered by the fact that it had passed its best before date. That stuff will probably remain stable for years, the cosmetic equivalent of a Twinkie, but a company that professes a passion for natural solutions and the rhythms of nature really cant afford to send out samples of expired day cream the selling point of which is that its natural, because natural ingredients dont keep. Anyway, because Im a professional and willing to overlook the occasional error I gave the stuff a try. The colour of the cream was a fairly vivid peach, and it had the consistency and appearance of my wifes foundation, but it absorbed into my cheek quickly and without leaving behind an obvious peach cast. It didnt leave any greasiness in look or feel. Ive no idea of the long term benefits of its use as my cabinet is already full to bursting with creams and serums that are still in date, but if it were fresh I wouldnt be opposed to using it every day. The only problem is the scent. Its very strong and oddly sweet, and 15 minutes after applying it - and rinsing my hands - I can still smell it on my fingers. Even were it not for the best before date that would be a dealbreaker, as I really prefer my skincare to be as close to unscented as possible.
