Hoping it works

I've used supplements long enough to know that you can't really expect significant results for sometimes as long as 8 weeks. I haven't finished this bottle so while I hope it doesn't take that long, I can't say for sure how well these work. I am battling chronic pain with peroneal tendonitis so I have recently added curcumin to my regimen. I would rather usual natural means to heal but I do still need an Advil once in awhile. I am hoping to eventually get off that.

Oversized glass bottle with tiny tablets. Claims without evidence regarding 'carrier-nutrient'

I will start this review by saying I take curcumin nearly every day for its anti-inflammatory properties. I also like and deeply appreciate Mercola's focus on natural healing to supplement western medicine's pharma. But I don't care for this particular product. Typically curcumin comes in regular size tablets (like a vitamin) with a 'carrier-nutrient' such as Bioprene (black pepper). The carrier aids in absorption so our body doesnt simply excrete the nutrient. This tiny tablet comes without any carrier-nutrient. Instead, it claims to be using a 'patented' tumeric. The 'patented tumeric' supposedly has qualities that every other form of tumeric is lacking (micronized, whatever that means). But they do not offer any evidence showing why they can simply discard the carrier nutrient in favor of their own proprietary blend. I don't buy it. I would rather have what we all know works (tumeric + biorene) than place our faith in some new tumeric variant that bypasses any need for a carrier. I am also put off by the regular sized, relatively heavy, glass bottle with a few tiny tablets scattered on the bottom. This seems wasteful on many levels.
