I usually dont have issues swallowing pills. My other prenatal pills are huge, horse pills one might say and I can swallow those no problem. I think these need the gel coating because I have cut these into thirds and have still had it get lodged in my throat. I have gagged so many times taking these :( if they put the pill into capsule form I would buy again but until then I will not be re-purchasing.

Unlike probably 90% of the ladies here, I am not pregnant nor do I plan to be. My psychiatrist of all people recommended this to me. To be honest, I forgot the exact reason, but I think she said it helps increase certain chemicals in the brain that will help with mood. After taking it consistently for a month and a half once daily, I am seeing some major improvements, albeit more physical than mental. I have always, ALWAYS had nails that are so weak, they peel back in layers. Theyre growing back so much stronger, not breaking, and not peeling which is a first for me. The other thing is my hair growth. Im actually annoyed at how much more I have to shave my legs, but its a small price to pay. My hair is noticeably silkier and feels a little more full, but I know for certain its growing ridiculously fast. If I had to wager, probably over an inch in the past month and a half. Overall, Im super happy with it. No, it doesnt taste good and has a distinct smell, but thats not really important. Its a good 3/4 long and not the easiest to swallow, but with water it goes down just fine. The ingredients are what really makes it. Very happy with this product.

The prenatal I was taking before was a 1 pill per day thing and I was completely unable to digest it for months in first trimester when I was having morning sickness. My doula recommended this one and she was Right: The ingredients are better quality and more natural, and (perhaps because of the type of iron, or perhaps because its a 2x/day dose) I was able to take it without throwing it back up. Definitely saved me for a while until the morning sickness subsided. It tastes a bit strong, like vitamin c and minerals (whatdyou expect?) but not so bad that I couldnt get it down. Maybe not for those who have serious difficulty swallowing pills in general cause the pills are not small and its hard compressed, not in a soft capsule. But it feels high quality and easy to digest.

Great for breastfeeding! But it is a big pill, so I wouldnt have been able to get it down while pregnant because of my gag reflex, but love them now.

I started taking these because I will be TTC soon and wanted the Folate now, and wanted to figure out a good prenatal now. I am mildly anemic and have attempted taking iron supplements before, but they made me feel so nauseous and sick that I stopped. Due to that, I was willing to spend a bit more on a prenatal that could actually get some iron in me and keep it down. This one with the two pills per day instead of one, less than 100% iron, and NO vitamin C to hinder the iron absorption, sounded like a perfect fit. Very happy to report that I have had no issues keeping these down, even taking them on an empty stomach. I feel more energetic than normal. It has a slight citrus taste, I can't say it is a good taste, but it is not repulsive and does not leave an aftertaste. The pill is large but that's to be expected of a two a day/one a day multivitamin pill, I think. Particularly with the iron. If large pills are a problem for you I'd recommend looking for something with more frequent but smaller doses. I plan to take Megafood's DHA & choline supplement as well as a vitamin C supplement while pregnant. If I take a blood test during the pregnancy I will update this review with the results...
