Fractionated pectin – also known as modified citrus pectin – is a complex polysaccharide obtained from the peel and pulp of citrus fruits. It's rich in galactoside residues – molecules that have an affinity for binding to certain types of cells.* These galactoside residues will preferentially bind to the lectins on the cell membranes.* Because Thorne's Fractionated Pectin Powder is a powder, it can be taken in higher amounts for those desiring to do so.

Inaccurate supplement facts labelling

I bought this thinking that it was different than the PectaSol-C branded MCP which says it contains sodium and potassium. Thorne shows no sodium or potassium on its supplement facts labeling. I have both and they visually looked identical. I wrote Thorne and they wrote back: yes, it contains naturally occurring sodium and potassium; they said they will be changing the label. Product should be recalled.

Made from PectaSol-C from EcoNugenics but Costs More $

Product is good but it even states on the container that it "uses PectaSol-C from EcoNugenics" ... but it costs more to buy from Thorne. I wish I realized that before purchasing & will be purchasing directly from EcoNugenics in the future.
